   Sat. Aug. 20 Workshops

• Spiritual Journaling

                     9 am to Noon (only)

Each time we open the pages of the Bible, we have an opportunity to hear a fresh word from God for our lives.

In this workshop, you'll discover a simple way to read the bible devotionally with any passage from Scripture.

This system is helpful for personal bible study, small group bible study, and for large group devotionals. This will be an interactive and practical workshop. Keeping a spiritual journal is not a mysterious process. Try it and we're sure you'll like it!

• Introduction to Prayer

              9 am to 2:30 pm

Led by: Joanne Van Hook, Lancaster UMC Prayer Team Leader

Prayer is the life and breath of our faithful living with God. A leader needs to not only know how to open and close a meeting or group session in prayer, but have a prayer life of their own.

Leaders pray for their group and committee members. Leaders ask various members to pray out loud at the meeting. Leaders encourage the goup and committee members to pray at home and become prayer leaders themselves.

Join us as we learn the various techniques of prayer, grow in our prayer life and become more assured as we lead others to pray.

We'll learn about the four types of Prayer: Talking at God, Talking to God, Listening to God, Being with God.
