LUMC Chancel Choir

The Lancaster United Methodist Church

Chancel Choir and Orchestra

is a highly dedicated group of singers and instrumentalists

giving glory to God every week of the year.

The Chancel Choir, directed by Ralph Williams, is a long-standing institution at Lancaster United Methodist Church, providing anthems, responses, hymn support and choral additions to our 10:45 Sunday worship service for well over 65 years.

Members are drawn from all walks of life and are united by their love of choral music and their faithfulness to the love of Jesus Christ in their lives.

In 2007 members of the group traveled to New York City to participate in a special concert at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall.
At this event, United Methodist choirs from around the U.S. celebrated Charles Wesley in song under the direction of Dr. Eph Ehly.

The choir's activities include community concerts and special outreach missions.

Every year the choir presents at least two major concerts: A Christmas Concer in mid-December and an Easter Concert on Palm Sunday afternoon.

The Orchestra, made up of both church members and community members alike, joins the choir for these special concerts.

Chancel Choir rehearses every Thursday night, 7:30-9 p.m., in the choir room, as well as from 9:45-10:30 Sunday mornings.

During the Summer months, there are no mid-week rehearsals.
