Our United Methodist Men (UMM) have a great Van ministry with a 12 passenger Van to help those who no longer drive or otherwise need rides to church and some other places.
We are currently using one Van that picks up people before our 10:45 am Worship. Sometimes there is a mid-week need to help someone get to the market or their doctor.
Phil Roberts (661.943.9846 or 661.942.0419) our Van Ministry Coordinator and invites any and all who would like to be of service to volunteer and help out.
If there are enough drivers, we may expand to having two Vans running on Sunday morning. We’d also like to explore the need for a regular schedule at local Retirement homes.
Will you pray and see if God puts this ministry is on your heart? You can sign up for one Sunday a month for three months at a time. You can be “on-call” for vacations, etc. You can simply make donations to help keep the Vans running.
You don’t need any special training, just a warm heart and a willing spirit to be of service to those who are “transportation limited.” It’s a great way to say “THANKS” to Christ for the love you have received.
