Veterans Day Activities

In the Antelope Valley


 9 a.m

Lancaster Cemetery –  111 East Lancaster Blvd. Lancaster

Veterans Court of Honor at the Lancaster Cemetery, Five Purple Heart Hometown Heroes and Hometown Heroes will be honored


11 am

Marie Kerr Park, Palmdale  (30th & Rancho Vista, Palmdale)

Mobile Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall (on public display 24 hours a day until 8 a.m.) 2723 West Rancho Vista Blvd. (Ave. P).


11 a.m.

Joshua Memorial Park, 808 East Lancaster Blvd.  Lancaster

A major program featuring Brig. Gen. Michael Brewer, commander of the 412th Test Wing at Edwards Air Force Base, will be the keynote speaker and a T-34 Flyover among other activities.


11 am

Mojave Air and Space Port

At the Legacy Park at the Air and Space Port, will feature two veterans of Air Force air traffic control plus display of aircraft such as:

Canadair F-86 Mk-VI Korean War-era fighter, a North American AT-6 World War II trainer, a North American T-28B Korea- and Vietnam-era trainer; a Grumman S-2F Tracker and a UH-1B Huey helicopter from the Vietnam era. Vintage military vehicles will also be on display.

Boron - Kern County Sheriff's Station at 26949 Cote St.

California City - Memorial Park, 22000 Randsburg Road.

Rosamond - Rosamond Park on Glendower Street. 


2 pm

Palmdale VFW post - 39463 10th St. East. Palmdale

Installation of a memorial for those from the Antelope Valley "who gave their all defending the principals of freedom during the last period of conflict" 


Special Gifts for Veterans:


1 pm – 3 pm Veterans' Appreciation Celebration

Honoring the veterans attending Charter College and others in the community.

Free buffet lunch,

For all veterans and active-duty military personnel (dine-in only),

5th Annual Veterans Pancake Breakfast
7-10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16.

Free for Veterans, others $4.  (Veterans status will be verified by military ID (active or retired), VA card, VFW card, American Legion card or DD Form 214.)
